The Sunino Group has entered the Elite program of Borsa Italiana

ELITE presented 25 new Italian companies in Milan, exceeding 1,130 companies within the Network of Businesses oriented towards growth. The Castellamonte business, by now present in most parts of the world, joins this prestigious project, thanks to the support of the ELITE desk of Confindustria Canavese.

ELITE is the international programme of London Stock Exchange Group founded in the Italian Stock Exchange in 2012 in collaboration with Confindustria. It is dedicated to ambitious businesses with a clear strategy for growth. ELITE’s goal is to support businesses in their development projects, offering them access to an international network, assisting them in accessing international financial markets, and providing them with a training path and dedicated consultation.

Last Wednesday, 17 April, ELITE welcomed 25 new Italian companies accepted into the programme. The companies come from 11 different regions and operate in 15 production sectors. The total number of businesses now exceeds 1,130, of which around 700 are Italian.

One of the businesses just accepted into the programme, is Gruppo Sunino, an important Canavese firm (the best known brand of which is Plastic Legno). Sunino Group specialises in processing plastics for the food packaging industry.

“We derive a lot of pride and satisfaction from becoming part of the ELITE network”, says Laura Sunino CEO of Sunino Group. “We’ve been offered a great opportunity, which we immediately wanted to grasp, convinced that the Italian Stock Exchange will allow us both to consolidate those of our businesses that are already present overseas and to confront new challenges and new international markets”.

The Gruppo Sunino was founded and still has its headquarters in Castellamonte. Founded in the post-war period by Grandpa Giacomo and then developed by his son, Carlo, today it is led by the Chairperson of the Board, Paolo Sunino, and by the CEO, Laura Sunino.

A family business then, but a group composed of some 13 businesses today, with 10 plants in different parts of the world, Sunino Group has a strong presence in Eastern Europe (Romania, Hungary, Moldova) and in Asia (India and Hong Kong). The 2018 turnover reached around 85 million Euro for around 3,500 employees globally.

Sunino Group’s best known business is Plastic Legno Spa and the group has collaborative relationships with innovative design studios able to collaborate, when requested, with customers’ marketing departments to develop any new project. The reference markets are those for food containers, sports gear, promotional items, dei toys, and technical items.
